I am very conscious of the changing season in Murrayfield, autumn is really upon us now and the trees are beginning to adopt a golden hue amongst the green and it won't be too long before we will need to have a leaf clearing session or two in the garden of the Church of the Good Shepherd. The leaves will be composted for future use within the garden and I really quite like that cycle of renewal for it reminds me of our own mortal lives. We all pass through this world briefly in geological and God time and some of us might wonder quite what effect we have upon creation? We may not see anything but God does not forget us. God remembers who we are and were, for God recognises even the smallest hair on our heads and loves us. Our sojourn may be brief but to know that we are never forgotten by God makes our journey eternal.
