Bible Sunday 2016 @ The Good Shepherd Murrayfield

Today is the Sunday called 'Bible Sunday', when we give thanks for our Scriptures and the revelation Christ through them. This year today seems to have greater significance with the remembrance of art Saturday's dramatic telling of St.Mark's Gospel by Canon Gerald Osborne. Hearing the Bible read or performed always seems to increase its impact as you get struck by certain words of phrases which illumine the whole passage of chapter. I am always surprised by what I find afresh in the Bible overtime I settle don to read it. Familiar stories always contain more than one first saw or heard.

Blessed Lord,
who caused all holy scriptures to be written for our learning:
help us so to hear them, to read, mark, learn and inwardly digest them that,
through patience, and the comfort of your holy word, we may embrace and ever holdfast
the hope of everlasting life, which you have given us in our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.
