Good Shepherd Sunday in Murrayfield

posted 14 May 2014, 07:06 by Dean Fostekew
This coming Sunday the 18th, the congregation will be keeping its patronal festival all be it a week late! Good Shepherd Sunday is usually kept on the fourth Sunday of Eastertide but this year we had the ecumenical joint service for Christian Aid on that Sunday, so being good Anglicans we have moved our celebrations to this Sunday.

Having Christ the Good Shepherd as our patron is a wonderful ikon of ministry for us to try and live up to. We are called to seek out the lost, care for the flock and to be prepared to challenge ourselves too. The Good Shepherd is a hard example to live up to but it is also an inspiration as well.
