Wishing all of you a Very Happy New year from all of us at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Murrayfield.
On Sunday we begin the new year by remembering the visit of the Magi to Jesus - the Feast of the Epiphany. Since Christmas Eve the figures of the Magi have been making their way around the church building, marking in short time the longer time period journey of the Magi to the Christ Child. The reason we keep the Feast of the Epiphany is that it marks the revelation of Jesus to the Non-Jewish world and affirms for us that Jesus is the Word made flesh and the manifestation of God in the world. It is a feast that says to us; 'Jesus is for all God's people' and not just a selected few.
