Harvest and the Food Bank

This past Sunday we at the Church of the Good Shepherd gave thanks for the food we eat and those who produce and transport it to our shops. It was made all the more poignant due to having the Chaplain to the Mission to Seafarers (the Rev'd Tim Tunley) with us, who was there to collect hats the congregation had knitted over the past few months. He told us that the sailors will take a hat and ask how much it is and how they are astounded and touched when told that there is no cost and that it is a gift from God made with love by a congregation member. We also collected tins and dried goods for our local food bank at St.Salvador's Stenhouse. We pray for all who will receive our gifts and for an equal sharing of our worlds resources.
