Harvest and the food bank

posted 29 Sep 2014, 10:37 by Dean Fostekew
Yesterday we kept Harvest Festival at the Good Shepherd using some of the Creationtide prayers from the SEC's liturgical resources, they proved to be a big hit as they focused our minds and prayers on the ways in which we use and abuse Creation and forget how to share God's bounty. The congregation was very generous in sharing of their bounty in the amount of gifts bought and money given to support the food Bank at st.Salvador's Stenhouse. As generous as they were it does appall me that in a wealthy, developed nation we need food banks. It is a scandal our governments should be ashamed of and should be working to rectify, I pray they do so soon.
