No sooner are we out of Christmastide than we are into Lent this year. We begin the Lenten season at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Edinburgh with the traditional Ash Wednesday services of the Eucharist and the imposition of ash on the forehead. This is to remind us of our mortality and that it was from the dust of the earth that God created Adam. As recent studies have proven, we are made up of stardust then the concept of God creating us from the dust is not as far fetched as it might first seem. It can make one think at least!
Services at our Murrayfield Avenue Church are at:
10am (said service)
7.30pm (sung service)
You are most welcome to join us as we begin the journey though Lent in this poignant way.
