This Sunday we at the Church of the Good Shepherd will celebrate Mothering Sunday. The day in Lent when we give thanks for the church (our mother) as this Sunday traditionally celebrated and our actual mothers or those who have fulfilled a mother's role in our lives. The service on Sunday will be at 10am as usual and some of our children will be taking part in the liturgy. With the clocks going forward we hope the good people of Murrayfield remember and turn up at the new 10am and not at what will become 11am!
Scriptural Thoughts for Mothering Sunday
Remember my words with your whole being. Write them down and tie them to your hands as a sign; tie them on your foreheads to remind you. Teach them well to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Write them on your doors and gates. Deuteronomy 11:18-20
I remember your true faith. That faith which first lived in your grandmother Lois, and I know you know have that same faith. You should continue following the teachings you learned. You know they are true, because you trust those who taught you. 2Timothy 1:5; 3:14
