Retreat on the Costa del Clyde

A group from the Church of the Good Shepherd left Murrayfield last week to spend a week's holiday or a retreat weekend on the Isle of Cumbrae. we were staying in the lovely Cathedral of the Isles in Millport. we had a fantastic week and have all returned with amazing suntans. It was quite Mediterranean on the island with the weather and the views; islands and yachts abounded and there were lots of happy smiling people too.

During the week some of the group visited the Isle of Bute to discover Mount Stuart House and some took the Waverley paddle steamer to Arran. whether is was by steamer or ferry cruising the Atlantic was akin to a holiday cruise in the southern Med.

The theme of the retreat was 'In the belly of the big fish' and was inspired by the Book of Jonah and explored how we can listen to God or run away from God.
