Thus far over Lent the themes of the readings for each Sunday have seemed to remind us that we are very much blessed by God in so many ways that we should out of joy share what we have with others. Even when the going is tough we are reminded that God is still with us loving and supporting us and helping us to cope with the burdens we carry. This coming Sunday is Mothering Sunday and we give thanks for our mothers and those who have fulfilled that role for us and remember that the church should be like a mother to us as well. At the Good Shepherd we continually try to be good and caring neighbours to each other both within the church and in the wider Edinburgh and Murrayfield Community. As we discern our priorities we are trying to find additional ways of caring for and reaching out to all God's people. It is a challenge but one we are willing to take on.
