Once again, we are into the ‘green season’ of the Church; the Sunday’s after Trinity (only 25 weeks until Advent!) and the season of summer holidays. Over the next couple of months the services will be simpler and perhaps occasionally a little different in places to emphasise the time of rest and change.
All of us need a change of environment and familiarity from time to time, if nothing else to enable us to appreciate what we have already been given by God and we all need a time to rest and recuperate. We are not clockwork figures but living beings that need to ‘top our batteries’ up to enable us to move forward into the future with energy and hope. I hope that over the summer you will find time to ‘chill’ as the youngsters say today. In these times of quietness and relaxation take a moment or two to reflect on the goodness of God, to count your blessings and to pray for those you know to be in need. Take time to do it well.
