At the Church of the Good Shepherd we are committed to trying to follow the principles of Fairtrade. Last Sunday saw us engage with a Fairtrade 'Bake-Off'. Members were encouraged to make and bake using Fairtrade ingredients. I produced Rectory Pineapple Chutney, others wonderful cakes and preserves. The results were excellent and combined with a bric-a-brac stall and table service for coffee and home baking it was quite the Murrayfield 'Village Fete'. We all had a good time and even better knowing that our efforts had helped those in the developing world move towards a better life.
Make a change in you shopping basket and choose fairly traded goods. The Supermarkets monitor your shopping habits so your choice directly affects their choice. It may be a small change for you but it is a big change for those who produce the goods we want.
